Coil Pot
This pot was made by rolling thin strands of clay and stacking them on top of each other. It has a unique shape; two different sized cylinders joined together. It has a symmetrical design in that each of the levels of designs on one pot correspond to that of the other. The only part that is not symmetrical, is the very top layer of design on the taller half. I choose to glaze it using a high fire glaze again, using a light green and a light blue.
6" Cylinder
This is my first project on the wheel. The goal was to be able to make a six inch tall cylinder, however, obviously, mine isn't. >< While trying to make this, I had the most trouble centering the clay and pulling it, so this is the best I could do. I also waited a long time before bisque firing it, so it was harder to trim. I definitely need to work on centering and pulling.
Rattle
This is the panda rattle i made :D. It's definitely my favorite project I made. So how I made it was by, for the bigger panda, I made two pinch pots and slipped and scored them together, then all i did was add on the ears, arms, and legs. I wanted to make something for my mom for Mother's Day, so i added a little panda with a sign saying, "I Love You". Before bisque firing, i made sure to poke a bunch of little holes at the bottom so the air wouldn't be trapped inside and explode. I used low fire glaze since I thought it was easier to work with and I like how solid the colors come out. I'm pretty satisfied with this, although I probably would've drawn the eyes differently so they actually look like panda eyes.
