Slab Box

Okay, so this time we were asked to make a slab box. I did this by, as the name implies, rolling and cutting out six slabs and then slipping and scoring them together to form a box. I was supposed to have different designs on each side, so I decided to go with the theme of the four seasons. I also tried a different decorating technique this time: using engobe and then scratching the design in. So, for each side of the box, I painted it with the color of engobe that I thought corresponded to the season. Then, for two of the sides, I used the scratching through the engobe method, whereas on the other two, I decided to use the adding clay method. For my handle, I decided to depict the change of seasons so I went from winter to summer. But I have no idea how it turned out, because it seems as though it has not yet been fired. *Hoping for the best and that it doesn't turn out like my pinch pot*
